Complete your KYC, properly and once
KYC is the gate to every investment you will make. Here is exactly what is needed, what each document must show, and a secure way to send it across.
Check your status
Look up your PAN at CVL KRA first. If it already reads KYC Validated, you may not need to do anything at all.
Gather the documents
Use the checklist below. Scans must be complete, in colour, unedited and readable — corners cut off is the single commonest cause of rejection.
Send them securely
Upload through the form on this page, or send them on WhatsApp to +91 98455 99145. We confirm receipt the same working day.
What you need to send
For every investor
- PAN card — clear colour scan, both name and number legible
- Aadhaar — masked copy showing only the last four digits, as permitted by UIDAI. Aadhaar also serves as your address proof.
- Photograph — recent passport-size, plain background
- Signature — on plain white paper, scanned or photographed straight on
- Bank proof — cancelled cheque with your name printed, or the first page of a passbook or a recent bank statement
Additionally, if you are an NRI
- Passport — photo page and address page
- Valid visa, residence permit or PIO/OCI card
- Overseas address proof — utility bill, bank statement or employer letter showing the foreign address
- NRE / NRO bank proof — cancelled cheque or statement page
- FATCA / CRS declaration with tax residency and TIN
If you are investing for a minor
- Birth certificate or passport establishing date of birth
- Proof of the guardian’s relationship to the minor
- Guardian’s own complete KYC set

KYC questions we get every week
Registered means your KYC is on record but was completed with documents that have not been verified against a government database. Validated means your PAN and Aadhaar have been cross-verified at source. A validated KYC works seamlessly across all AMCs; a registered one may require you to submit documents again when you invest with a new fund house.
Where Aadhaar-based verification is possible it can be same-day. A standard submission usually reflects with the KRA within three to seven working days. NRI cases involving attestation take longer, typically two to three weeks, depending on the country and how the documents are attested.
Most commonly: the PAN is not linked to Aadhaar, the name on PAN differs from the name on the address proof, the address proof is out of date, or the scan is incomplete or unreadable. Send us the rejection message and we will identify the exact reason and what will fix it.
No. KYC is centralised through the KRA system, so once it is validated it applies across mutual funds. You may still need to submit a fresh FATCA declaration or a nomination for a specific folio.
Documents are transmitted over an encrypted connection, stored with access restricted to the people who need them, and shared only with the KRA, RTA or AMC processing your application. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone. The full position is set out in our Privacy Policy.
